In this portrait of our Savior, His piercing eyes look through us, in the same way that the word of God discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Scripture forms the backdrop of this portrait. As we look at Jesus, we see the word of God.

The original piece is mixed media, comprised of antiqued pages from a Bible that was falling apart after years of daily use. Rather than throw it away, I decided to create this artwork as a reminder of the power of His word in our lives. The semi translucent paint allows you to see the scripture behind it - seeing the word of God by looking at Jesus.
